aref2 Investigations were carried out to examine process directions of humus state transformation in meadow-chernozem soil in dependence of the level of farming system intensification and estimation of the main characteristics of its agro-ecological state (total humus content, its qualitative composition, medium reaction, exchangeable cation content). Field experiment was started in 1998 on the medow-chernozem, middle thick, middle humus, heavy loamy soil in the cereal-herbage crop rotation: three years of alfalfa, two years of wheat, barley. Sample selection was done in 2009 nine times in the field of wheat cultivated after alfalfa the third year of utilization from layers 0-20 cm and 20-40 cm on the following variants: control (without fertilizers), manure 10 t + N286528, straw 17.2 centners + N286528, manure 10 t + straw 17.2 centners + N286528 (fertilizer doses is per 1 ha of crop rotation area). Mineral fertilizer application of many years in combination with organic one accompanied by increase in total humus content in the layer 0-20 cm by 0.61-1%, 20-40 cm - by 0.43-0.77%. In the layer 20-40 cm a tendency to increase in free humic acids content by 2.6-4% is revealed. At the same time the medium reaction remains close to neutral one: in the layer 0-20 cm pH is 6.2-6.4, in the layer 20-40 cm - 6.4-6.8. Exchangeable cation content in the layer 0-20 cm remains almost the same, exchangeable calcium amount is assessed as high (31.2-29.5 mEq/100 g of soil).
