aref2 The investigation aims is to increase yields of a unique vegetable crop (daikon) in the Middle Urals. The unique vegetable crop yields within 2-2.5 months of 40-60 t/ha on the average around Russia. The absence of a sharp radish smell, refined taste of daikon dishes in everyday diet of the Japanese increases the life expectancy on two years (the average rate is 71 years old). During four years the investigation of influence of a feeding area on yield of daikon took place in the Middle Urals. It is established that the bigger a feeding area the heavier leaves mass. Alternatively, a share of leaves mass in the gross mass of the plant decreases, the role of herbage in the gross yield mass reduces up to 45.6%. It is proved that growth of a feeding area in five times promotes an increase of the diameter of a root crop in 1.3 time. The biometrical characteristics of daikon in dependence on a feeding area was studied; the change of a root mass was established; viability of plants at harvesting. The high viability of plants (96.7%) was achieved at the largest feeding areas from 0,143 up to 0,175 sq. m per a plant.
