aref2 Diplolepis quercus folii (DQF) was used as a test-object. Degree of pollution of the atmosphere was estimated, depending on the distance between the sources of pollution - the highway. During fall season the oak leaves were taken for tests on heavy metal content, besides forest litter was investigated in order to determine the quantity of DQF. Fecundity of DQF was studied with entomological warren in situ. The relative survival of DQF imago decreased near the highway and was 0.83 at the distance of 50 m and 0.65 exactly near by. The content of lead in the galls of studied species was 2.81 and 1.41 (mg/kg), and nickel - 1.72 and 0.58 near the highway and in the forest respectively. DQF imago colonize oak leaves containing more heavy metals as these leaves are weaker physiologically and they undergo the insects invasion. The highest level of DQF fecundity occurs when the chemical contamination level is low, but it decreases in 2 times when this level is rather average. But it should be noticed that on high contamination level the DQF fecundity doesn't decline and the population density even becomes higher. This phenomenon can be explained by the lessening of competition from the side of other species having the same ecological positions.
