aref2 2 The experimental studies have shown that in the second rotation the highest yield of potatoes was in rotation with clover. On the control in the crop rotation with clover it was 26 /ha higher than the crop rotation with lupine and 23 /ha with corn. The increase in the rates of compost both separately and together with mineral fertilizers contributed to a decrease in the content of starch and vitamin C in the tubers, an increase in the content of nitrates; though the value was much lower than the maximum permissible concentration (MAC). The highest content of starch and vitamin C accumulated in tubers in the crop rotation with clover (14.6-16.0% and 16.7-20.2 mg%), then with lupine (14.7-15.8% and 16.0-19.7 mg%) and less with corn (14.8-15.5% and 15.0-17.9 mg%). The higher values of nitrate content in tubers were recorded in crop rotation with lupine (24.4-61.8 mg/kg), then with clover (23.9-49.9 mg/kg) and corn (20.0-39.2 mg/kg). The most productive were crop rotations with corn and clover. Given the different systems of potato fertilization, as well as different backgrounds the crop rotation with corn (except control) was the best, the crop rotation with clover was the second, with lupine - the third. Depending on the rates of peat-manure compost in its separate application, the increase in the yield of feed units increased in the crop rotation with corn by 21.1-46.2-54.9 /ha, with clover by 18.0-27.9-35.3 /ha and lupin by 11.1-16.6-20.4 /ha. The combined application of compost and mineral fertilizer the values were 254.1-71.9-84.4 kg/ha, 40.5-49.9-55.8 kg/ha and 29.6-35.7-37.7 /ha, respectively, as compared to control.
